> Portrait Hans-Jürgen Syberberg

Director Clotilde Pivin

The man is elegant, courteous, very big, warm. He wears a jacket flax discreet.
He smiles. We meet in the garden of a restaurant in the heart of the trendy galleries in Berlin.
I had seen last May in Vienna, its last installation - is the generic term it uses for exposure - marked by a retrospective of his films.
Grand enthusiasm on my part that turns today to interview.

Who is Hans-Jürgen Syberberg?

The most innovative filmmaker of his time.
It has continued to interrogate 70 years since the German history and European culture. He is the author of a cult film, unclassifiable, monumental Hitler, a film by Germany 1977, Parsifal (1982), The Night 1985 - monologue 5 hours and said played by Edith Clever.

His work demanding that frightens German institutions offers the exciting relationship between cinema, literature, theatre where the image is developing new sites in scope. It intervenes in the world of contemporary art and history with installations that arouse surprise.
He develops a site
http://www.syberberg.de without doubt the most fascienant designed by an artist. He spoke of Nossendorf village where he was born near the Baltic, and the family bought by his father and confiscated twice: by the second World War and the ex-GDR, finally redeemed himself by Syberberg .. .
